This windproof lantern works. I received my first one as a gift and even though my house is rustic and this lantern is Moroccan it works beautifully! I live on a hill on farmland so there are no trees around for protection from the wind. We used it outside and it worked perfectly. So we purchased this smaller amber one. The glow is beautiful and I highly recommend it you will not be disappointedI really enjoy the color of this lantern. The amber glow gives a very nice feel to the room. However, there are a few problems with it. The door that you open in the candle is semi-noticeable, having about 1/8 cm border around it of open space. Over time, the hinges are worn down and it begins to angle very slightly, making the door's locking mechanism not fit in its assigned hole correctly. The circular handle at the top of the lantern isn't made of metal, but a sort of plastic. This is okay, as it prevents it from heating up, I just thought I would let you know. The problem with the handle being there is that it's in the direct path of the rising heat from the candle, and if you're using a powerful candle that's bright, you'll feel the heat. I would mostly recommend this lantern for outside decorations with LED candles or such, not as a functional lantern.I bought 3 of these and they came unbroken and I just love them! They are very cute!They provide a nice subtle candlelight for my patio, and they are very Lightweight.I use Tea Light Candles in them so that when they burn out they burn into the base which is metal.I wouldn't use a normal candle inside for fear the wax that runs down will ruin the base of the unit.The Tea Light candlelight is plenty of subtle light to use for a nice Patio experience.Not happy!!! I ordered this lantern in march 29th, meaning to order two of them to hang on the wall on the each side of my couch. I added 2 to my cart, but the next day when I checked out ended up only ordering one by mistake. Which is my fault. Well, when I went to order the second one, I went into the "your orders" category in my amazon account and clicked the same EXACT lantern I have already ordered and received, and placed an order for the second one. I received it yesterday, and it's HALF THE SIZE of the first one. It is now useless, and I'm very upset. I have still been charged full price for the full size lantern. Not only has this been an issue, but they both came welded together crooked, and hang lop sided, with a sticky door and bumpy hook to hang it on. I was very excited to add these to my living room decor, but am now extremely disappointed. I would like to still use these pieces, however the size of the second lantern will not work. I am so disappointed and do not recommend this product or company to any one considering either one.For the Price I wasn't expecting to be knocked off my socks but i was still pleasantly surprised by this lamp. It is a little smaller than I expected but the metal was sturdy and it did a good job holding the tea light I put in it. I used this lamp (and the other colors available through Amazon) as a centerpiece for an Indian themed bridal shower and got many compliments. Shipping time was as estimated.Cute lantern. Glass panes are not glued down to frame which would be a bit more comforting but I guess would change the look so I understand. Haven't put a candle in it yet but I'm thinking battery operated tea lights would be the way to go. Over all, it's a keeper.I guess there is a standard lantern size I ASSUMED this item would be - shame on ME for not checking the dimensions, because the size was a major disappointment. The lantern itself is beautiful at a distance, but actually rather flimsy up-close. The glass panes are too intense or thick to see much of the glow from a tea light; I wouldn't dare put a votive in this due to the smaller size. Latch is a little difficult to line up as well, goes along with the flimsy construction.I will definitely check product dimensions before purchasing an item like this again, I've learned my lesson!!Very pretty, although I wish it came with a chain, and the top ring was not welded perfectly straight. you can't tell if it's hanging, but if it was on a table you would notice. I also had to put the glass panels back together after shipping. It's very pretty, but it isn't constructed very well.It's a fancy lantern exactly looks like it's described, fast delivery thank-you?.Junkie. Cannot believe the price. Looks cheap and plastic.
