I am so glad i chose this item! I thought the glazed glass door would be annoying but it helps make my stereo area look less cluttered. My components all fit inside with 1 shelf to spare - i put my turntable on top. Sturdy, no wobbling. Plenty of heat-venting openings at back. Might be better assembled by 2 people but i succeeded alone with patience. Instructions were pretty clear. I added washers when mounting the door, and those little stick-on protector thingamabobs so the door closes more gently. The product was very easy to assemble, no parts were missing. However, packing was a nightmare. As another purchaser had mentioned, the foam used to pack item breaks up easily and needed to be vacuumed as pieces were removed from the box. The inside of the box also needed to be vacuumed as it was being broken down. All foam pieces needed to be broken down and bagged, what anightmare. What bothers me most about this type of packing is most people don't really care about the foam and will simply discard it in a garbage, not caring about it breaking down into tiny pieces that birds and other wild life might mistake for food. Bush, do better at packaging, stop being so cheap. This company can call it whatever they want: engineered wood, laminated engineered wood, it's all just marketing jargon for what it really is.... PARTICLE BOARD. This should explain why the cabinet was in the $200 range as really wood would cost much, much more.Next, the glass had some scratches and the lamination of the particle board had some nicks and chips.Overall, I cannot give this product anymore than a 3 star overall rating. The packaging and the marketing jibberish need to be resovled. I wouldn't recommend this product to anyone based on one criteria.... the packaging. Not a fan of these "do it yourself" projects. But this one is an exception. Very solid when completed. Directions pretty good. All the parts were there and in tip-top shape. Made one change. Didn't like the looks of the PLASTIC legs. Went to a local hardware store and purchased four castors with solid wheels. Works perfectly and can easily be turned around to access rear connections. etc. I've read complaints about the door scraping on the bottom. The directions don't explain, but the hinge parts attached to the door itself, have a small screw, that when turned, align the door and eliminate any problems. The only complaint: not about the cabinet itself. But that stinking Styrofoam used to pack and ship the cabinet. Did it's job, but DO NOT UNPACK THIS THING INSIDE. Or anywhere else if tiny little slivers of Styrofoam infiltrating the area (and must be cleaned up later) bother you. And for God's sake, DON'T turn on a fan. I live in HOT Florida. A ceiling fan is always running. Big mistake. Brought in a vacuum cleaner and sucked up most of the pieces as I unpacked. Took over 45 careful minutes to unpack this thing. The Styrofoam self destructs if you look at it, let alone actually touch it--to move it. It just crumbles. So be warned. Don't get impatient and keep a vacuum cleaner handy. Oh, and those tiny little slivers? Some will escape. And you WILL find them EVERYWHERE for the next few hours. (Or days.) Styrofoam aside, the cabinet is good. I don't think you will be disappointed. It's plenty sturdy when completed. Oh, those "punch out" panels in the back? Don't "punch out." Be prepared to struggle getting them out. Nice cabinet. Well worth the effort in my estimation. Good Luck, RICOverall, this a great cabinet, and I'm glad I bought it. I was looking at something similar from Salamander Designs, but the cost was 10x this one!The cabinet arrived about 4 days ahead of the planned delivery date, and all of the items were in good condition, meaning no scratches, no broken items, etc.The instructions are detailed and easy to follow. The only issue I have is that one of the door hinges in the bag is for a different cabinet, as it prevents me from being able to close the door on my cabinet. I emailed customer service about the issue, and they quickly responded and sent out the correct hinge. After making several adjustments to the hinge once installed, the door opens/closes very smoothly.I'm pleased with the cabinet, how it looks and functions, and would gladly recommend it. Good value for the price!I have to say this company has fantastic instructions. I've never had furniture instructions that are so well thought out. They even encourage you to call if you need help, and link to videos. The quality of the materials is really good for the money and it looks great once assembled. The only issue I have with it was cutting out the holes in the back panel was a pain. I like that it gives the options to choose which shelves you want ventilated. The issue is that it looks like you can easily punch out the holes, but nope, I ended up tearing up the back panel. I had to get a box cutter to cut out the holes. Fortunately the back panel is out of sight, so not a big deal for me. Overall I recommend. When assembled, the unit is quite attractive and looks great in its setting. Assembly was straightforward although care must be taken to follow all steps and ensure pieces are properly aligned at each stage. The partially opaque door glass is very nice to help mask components within yet still pass control signals from remotes to the devices while closed.Whilst this is certainly good value for the cost, it is manufactured from inexpensive MDF board with a thin plastic veneer finish. However, again as long as good care is taken to protect the finish and avoid scratches while assembling and placing, the finished cabinet makes a great addition and practical addition to contain stereo/media equipment. Hardware glass wood finish all very nice. Good value for the money. Hides stereo components. Blends into room! The colour was much darker than I would have liked.Love the look of this...too shallow for older stereo system to fit into properly however. Easy to out together.
