Switching outdated brass knobs for satin nickel levers (continuity of remodel). Some of the knobs/levers were hard to find and we had to purchase from several locations. Check the ANSI rating (1 - Best, 2 - Better, 3 - Good) and avoid anything rated below 2 if you want a reliable product. These are rated ANSI 2 but seem solid. The levers are easier to open when your arms are full carrying something and much kinder for older folks that prefer not to deal with grab/twist motions. No issues installing dummy, privacy, or passage models. Some savings were found buying in bulk or cardboard packaging vs retail box with clear plastic.I bought this to replace a worn-out knob-type handle for the inside door between my garage and house. The quality, fit and finish of this new lever is superb. It's also so much easier to open the door with this lever than by having to twist a knob. I should have done this replacement years ago. The version I got does not have a lock feature, I just use the separate dead bolt to lock the door.We bought these for the closet door pulls to match the door knobs in the rest of the house.Easy to install. Exactly what we wantedVery easy to install. I ordered both keyed and bathroom privacy locks. Super easy to reverse handle, solid feel, looks great. As advertised, and would buy again.Better quality than a comparable quikset product. But not as good as I rber from schlage years ago. Maybe manufacturing moved off shore.Replaced lockset that had internal damage from unknown cause.I've installed hundreds of locksets over the years and I can't remember even one that was as easy to install and looks great ! Highly recommend.A decent handle is getting tougher to find, but this one is alright.Has a nice enough look to it, finish seems good and overall the handle feels solid when you use it.My only complaint is the turning radius is more extreme than other handles, so with other handles you turn about half way and you can open the door, this one makes you turn fully. Not a deal breaker, but when you are used to not having to turn a handle fully to open a door on every other handle in the house you will notice the small amount of extra effort needed on this handle...or find yourself pulling on a door not yet willing to open. Doesn't seem to be adjustable for that issue either. This door knob was easy to install. It is solid and looks good.I did install it on my detached garage and it works fine. I lock the garage door with a dead bolt so I just needed a passage (i.e., not locking) door knob.I would have given this door knob five stars if the plunger stuck out a little bit further. It does catch on our door but not by much.NEW Service update since this review:"Nice looking, heavy knob that's easy to open even with an armful. I've owned it 22 months and the latch just fell apart. I couldn't get in or out without using a pry bar. I'll try contacting Schlage to see about a replacement and will change the rating if they come through."I contacted the Canadian branch of Schlage about the problem. Very personable service, they were friendly and spoke REAL English. Not only did I have the new latch in my hand in two days, they actually called three days later to make sure everything was good. Not just GOOD, Amazing! Changed rating from 2 to 5 stars!I had high hopes for these, and ordered enough to replace all handles in my home including passage, privacy and closet. They consistently had quality issues including nicks in the lacquer finish, scratches and poor finishing. Because these are curved, there are highly noticeable grind marks in the curves. A bit disappointing as I had the same handle years ago in brass and had no issues at all. Functionally they seems sturdy, but in terms of finish, they were a disappointment, especially given how much a handle costs. I decided to return the entire order and keep looking. When I pay top dollar for this as I did I expect it not to be reused and sent to me.Otherwise you should sell it as reused. It was damaged with discoloration on the side of the rosette. Finally the wrong parts were sent in antique brass instead of polished that I ordered for strike, the mounting screws, mounting bolts and the faceplate. So I reused from my old polished brass door knob these parts and improvised.I think that you should give me a courtesy discount that I did not return this!
