It's a pretty decent looking piece, but there are a few flaws. In the picture, the lantern hangs over the circular ring at the bottom. It also is about an inch or two higher then the hook below it. The one that I received is quite different. My lantern hangs half in, half out, of that ring and it also hangs right at the level of that hook at the bottom.For me, it's more of a decorative piece. I'm not going to be lighting a candle in it, so I haven't tried that. However, the door is a little hard trying to close it. I have to use a little force and hope for the best.In a darker room with limited lighting, the blue glass doesn't show up that good. But if you put it near the sunlight, or have pretty good lighting in your room, then the blue looks really nice.The construction is not of the best quality, as the ring on the bottom is not level, so it has a tendency to rock back and forth a little bit. So just don't touch it, and it won't rock.Bottom Line: You get what you pay for. Cheap price, poor construction, but... it looks decent enough as a decorative item. My lamp's little door was hard to relatch after opening it to place the tea light candle in it but honestly it's not like you can tell it's not closed and it didn't affect the lamp's performance. I had this in my kitchen on a small shelf by a window and so it was a little bright with natural light but it did cast some soft jewel tones around it. Not sun catcher prism-bright mind you, but it was subtle colors. Perhaps in a darker environment it would be more brilliant but honestly I think it's cute for what it is. My lamp does touch the curled hanger a little bit (it doesn't look like it does in the picture of the product on Amazon) but...once again, doesn't affect anything. I would say it is a nice little gift for yourself or someone who likes cozy candle things...It’s cute, and well made. Just make sure you read the dimensions and use a tape measure to physically see dimensions of what you’re ordering. It’s just to small and thin for anything other than an add-on decoration. Definitely can’t be a center piece. But that shouldn’t go against the product-just something to consider. The product really is pretty, well made and arrived before expected! The glass throws fairly weak shadows on walls and objects near the lamp, and the moroccan style " scrollwork" also creates really richly textured shadows above. This also lends for a nice look, as it produces shadows of multiple colors and 2 textures... yellow of the flame with the fancy "scrollwork" and the various colored sections from the glass. Don't expect this thing to light the room, though... the addition of the glass reduces the strength of the light from the flame much like a lampshade does, not that a small candle is going to cast much light to begin with.Build quality is decent for the price. Everything seems fully functional so far, the door opens and closes easily and latches/unlatches without difficulty. Overall I'm perfectly satisfied with my purchase.The pattern the top makes is beautiful with a tealight. The blue color is not very strong when the tea light is lit, however, I wasn't really concerned about the color that is emitted from the lantern when lit. The color of the unlit lantern is very close to the one pictured on the web site. I had no issues with quality or craftsmanship. The little stand is perfect on the nightstand, as I didn't want to hang a chain down from the ceiling.I ordered two of these and they're just beautiful. They're so intricate and lacy looking and the greenish blue tinted glass reminds me of the color of old fashioned soda bottles, but is pressed with yet more intricate designs.The hooks/stands are perfectly functional and look okay, but the way they were manufactured in order to fit in a flat box kind of takes away from their overall appeal for me. There's a little bolt welded to the bottom of the hook and a hex nut welded to the base and you assemble them there. But the hex nut just looks a little out of place with all this beautiful organic design on the lanterns. I had intended to find some wall mounted hooks for them anyway and that's such a minor complaint, most people probably wouldn't even notice it.It's a nice little lamp.
