Product Description Yamazaki's Cache Gold Accent is a rich pattern like no other. The romantic asymmetrical flourishes of Cache Gold Accent are reinforced with a distinct design signature of unique piercing embellishing the tines of each fork creating a look that is both ornate and breathtaking. Amazon.com The fluid lines and gold gleam of Yamazaki Cache flatware create a glamorous, graceful look at the table. Finished with a mirror-like polish, each piece features a feathery swirl of 24-karat gold on the raised handle design. The pattern also extends to the tines on each fork, which are elaborately sculpted. Crafted from 18/8 stainless steel, the Cache line is corrosion-resistant and dishwasher-safe. The gold is electroplated for extra durability, and the knife blades are fashioned from high-carbon cutlery steel. Update: January 2015Still going strong, almost same luster. Lucky me, did not return it. Worth the investment but it was way cheaper than Amazon prime price at this moment.Updated: Dec 19th 2012Irrespective of my original review and personal taste, we have used this in numerous occasions in a formal and not so formal settings. We did receive some of the nice comments for the set. Elegant and fancy were the words commonly repeated. With time and usage, this set grew on us and we love it. Dishwasher safe is one of the major advantages as compared to any of my other sets. After at least 20 full cycles via dishwasher it has not lost any of it's original luster - confirmed, hoping it will be helpful to all readers. Bumping it to 4 (4.5 actually) stars. Price has also gone up, quite a bit, as compared to my original purchase price in 2010. Believe almost doubled now.Again, for looks this is great but usage is personal preference. We/I still prefer heavier set for Thanksgiving and Christmas Dinners (read original review for more).Original Review===============We refurnished our home with new Aico (Chateau collection) furniture and this set caught my eye because of amazing looks. Ordered a 10 place setting but after receiving and holding it first time in my hand felt like paper. I know I am exaggerating but folks it's really light for a prime time (formal) dinner setting. If you buying for looks, I must say go for it, you will be very happy as you will not see anything like this but usage may be different issue.I just wanted to make sure that you're aware of it before you order one - I wish I knew:-). Usage and preference is case to case basis and in my case I needed something heavy (personal choice). This being from Market place, although Amazon guarantees total satisfaction, but your return may shave off shipping and restocking from your initial investment. These are just my 2c from my experience and hope you'll find something that you'll cherish for a long time including but not limited to passing on to your kids :-)All the best!!PS:forgot to mention irrespective of the usage discussed above, just because of looks I kept it and still looking for another heavy formal set though :-)they are gorgeous! they are lightweighted, very shiny and delightfully elegant without being gody. i usually rinse my good flatware in soapy water or in the dishwasher with no detergent to remove food acids and then wash them by hand later. once in a while i will use the dishwasher with detergent.(the detergent is the abrasive element in a dishwasher and what could scrape some finishes) i dont understand why some commentors think the weight is a sign of quality, i suspect this is an old concept. with today technology i find lightweight flatware of good quality. i had been in love with this pattern good 10 years before i could afford to buy them because i think they are very different. i always receive lots of compliments. they look exactly as the picture but shiner. there is plenty of other images online if you are interested. they are worth the investment, they are good quality, beautiful and strong but i dont know if they could really hold on or everyday dishwasher because that is not how i use them.** look closely and you will notice that the salad fork design results in small teeth. that is the only flaw keeping them from being perfect, but i could not give 4.75 stars. it does not pinch a lot of food, so yes, if you like a bite of everything in the salad in one mouthfull you could be dissapointed. the teeth measure between 1/2in-5/8in so go get a fork and place some tape at that distance to give you an idea how small they are. i still dont care, i love them the same because they are beautiful. i have about 5-6 pattern that i like and this is definetely my favorite.funny note: maybe that is why japanese are slim, slow start on dinner salad. lolWe inherited some ornate china from my husbands mom that I never use because it's trimmed in gold. Very pretty but you must use ornate silverware to go with it. I wanted something to go with it but I didn't want to invest in gold silverware. This was perfect. It's not what I would call expensive stainless but it's very pretty..not really heavy in weight but enough so that it goes fine with the china.I will only use it for special occasions but I am very happy with the purchase. My husband especially likes the tine design on the forks. Very nice.I bought some dishes with gold trim and wanted flatware with some gold on it, but not the all-gold stuff which I think looks tacky.I fell in love with this pattern when I stumbled across a picture of it and was wowed by the design of the forks.I have since bought four place settings and just love them. The pieces are a nice heavy weight and they are beautifully made. And in case you're wondering, the forks feel just fine to eat from. This flatware is not weighty but it does look attractive on the table. I have Lenox Winter Greetings Christmas china that it looks nice with. The pictures are accurate. The forks are very different from others you see. Horchow and Neiman Marcus have this same pattern for a much higher price and the shipping and tax is high if you live in Texas. Other sites on-line can't compete with the amazon price.Pricey but excellent polish and finish. Definitely get compliments on this set.I am so thrilled ? when I opened the box everything was wonderful. Detail was great. Consistently designed. Great quality. It’s cheaper than the company I usually buy from.I have a 12 place setting of the Yamasaki Cache Gold Accent flatware. I am adding more settings and I couldn’t be happier with this pattern. It’s absolutely gorgeous.
